2021 Farmers Market Spring Renewal

According to Wikipedia, "Starting in the mid-2000's, consumer demand for foods that are fresher (spend less time in transit) and for foods with more variety -- has led to the growth of farmers' markets as a food-retailing mechanism".  Sonoma County boasts over 20 different farmers markets in the area and the one thing that they all have in common is that all the vendors are required to produce their own fresh product.  Now living in Sonoma County we are blessed with such a bountiful variety of agricultural wealth where do I even began pointing my finger in a direction to try and start to dissect what Sonoma County has to offer.  I, myself, (if I have to be honest) have very little insight and experience in the arena of Sonoma County farmers markets, but as I journey through events and happenings in Sonoma County, the farmers markets are an absolute worth mention.  Maybe some day I will go on the hunt through the Sonoma County Farmers Markets looking for that specific must have item, which will undoubtedly lead me to some unique treats and surprises along the way.  But until that day comes, for now I offer up this particular one that has caught my eye......

The first official day of Spring is Saturday March 20th. The Santa Rosa Original Farmer's Market will be celebrating with a Spring Renewal 2021 Market which will rejoice in a fresh start!

Come out, get some fresh air (maybe a spring shower or two) and see all the fresh Spring products at the SROFM, including fresh honey, vegetables, bakery goods, bouquets, Easter chocolates, chocolate gift boxes, custom wood products/furniture, metal works, wine tasting, breakfast and lunch hot foods, coffee/tea, and more.

LOCATION
Luther Burbank Center parking lot
50 Mark West Springs Road

Santa Rosa, CA, 95403

So far I have trended away from the culinary arts and the ever present wine aspects of Sonoma County, and I tend to continue to do so with my blogs being more focused on actual events. But I also must confess I have a sweet spot for, well.....sweet spots! So when you entice me with Easter Chocolates and gift boxes, I have a hard time following my own rules. Ha ha. Anyhow I hope to make it out to this and if anybody has anything they would like to add about this upcoming event or share their experience with this farmers market all comments are welcome. Thanks for listening.... until next time friends. (I need to come up with some kind of catch phrase or something)

  1. Hi Jeff,

I think this post is awesome, makes me remember the days when I used to go to the farmer's market the one by the Sutter Hospital on Saturday mornings. I really like that one because there used to be a nice old man who sold Full Circle bakery goods and I'd always grab a sweet French baguette or two and maybe some sweet treats too. Like yourself, I have a sweet tooth. I think this is a great idea for people trying to get out there in SoCo and support local businesses! Personally, I haven't been lately to the farmer's market but now that you mention it, I think I want to get some fresh local goodies. If anyone is heading out to Windsor, I recommend the Windsor farmer's market there they have on Sunday's (not sure if it's still going on with everything going on though), they have delicious strawberries. Thank you Jeff for such a great post!

I love your story about the nice old man at Full Circle bakery goods. Really sets a great picture! That's it! I am going to at least one farmers market this year. I'm not sure if it was the nice old man that got me or the delicious strawberries. Thanks!
